The name’s Shane Doherty, I’m a graphic designer from Derry, N.Ireland.

My main focus is using my design knowledge to push products, sites, devices etc… into new territories by providing innovative designs, eye catching interfaces and welcoming yet original designs.

At the age of 21 I completed a degree at The University of Ulster (N.Ireland) after studying Interactive Multimedia Design for 4 years. I built myself a portfolio and client base by designing for musical artists and bands worldwide via Stellar Artist Management and their record labels. Everything from posters, logos, web sites, cd covers etc… Anything you could throw at me!

When I turned 25 I joined the UXC (User Experience Center) department of Sony Ericsson in their Lund (Sweden) headquarters as a graphical designer and together we have designed many Sony Ericsson application interfaces and themes including the world famous Walkman ™ and Cybershot ™ brands. A big challenge for any graphical designer with the goal of continuing Sony Ericsson’s reputation as a world leader in user interface design.

Now at the age of 28 Sony Ericsson has undergone a huge transformation as it adopts the Android platform and with everything being fresh and open the job as a graphical designer is very exciting. The screens getting bigger, the resolution is getting intense and in the era of the Smartphones and the open markets the sky is the limit. Our latest line of Sony Ericsson Xperia phones has really set a benchmark and has received many awards and thumbs up from gadget mags worldwide.

As well as that I recently became the Creative Director of SurveyLegend. A newly found company of entrepreneurs focusing on creative and innovative user friendly survey tools. My goal is to design a complete branding for the company and an exciting interface for a new survey tool aimed at a being young, fresh and focused on the social networking generation. As of now the tool is currently being BETA tested and it has attracted some big names looking for a sneak peek and has won a few innovation awards, including Venture Cup in Sweden and Seedcamp in New York.
